In a surprising move, Jordan's king Abdullah II has replaced his cabinet and Prime Minister today. Following continuous protests in Jordan from both Islamist hard-liners and students concerning corruption. The dismissals come in the wake of similar protests in Egypt and Tunisia, as well as recent unrest in Iran. All eyes are focused on the Middle East as world governments ponder how the region's instability will turn out.
Bowing to intense domestic and international pressure, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak announced today that he would not run for reelection in September. The declaration came after days of protests in Cairo and other cities, as well as President Obama sending an envoy to persuade the unpopular leader to step down.
